MW-2200 & MW-1100 tm Product Specifications We have divided the wind turbine into three sections in order to allow for variations in the order process. These sections are the Upper Rotational Assembly (Sails), the Axial Flux Alternator system (Alternator Box), and the Post-Generation system (Inverter and/or Electrolyser). Upper Rotational Assembly The output of the system is dependant on 3 things:o the size of the sails;o the roof height, position and configuration; ando the wind speed of the area.Normally the only thing that we can control out of this group is the size of the sails. The Axial Flux Alternator system is designed to rotate very slowly compared to other wind turbine systems. This gives us the ability to vary the sail size up to 22 feet and still be able to maintain 45 rpm. The productivity of the wind turbine is targeted at 2200 kWh/month in a 13 mph average wind, on a house with a UDA factor of 1.9, based on a sail size of 8 feet tall by 14 feet wide. The following table gives you a choice of sail sizes; the wind types in general terms and their costs.
* This calculation uses the Wind Power Density formula to determine the amount of wind energy that a single sail is exposed to for the time period in the rotation when the sail is fully exposed to the wind. This should not be used as an indication of how much power the wind turbine will produce, but rather as a guide to compare the potential of the different sail sizes. The Cut-In Speed is traditionally shown as the speed when the wind turbine blade will start spinning. As with everything else in our turbine, it does not follow the norm that the wind energy industry obtains with horizontal axis wind turbines. The Mag-Wind™ MVAWT turbine will start moving at speeds of less than 3 mph. However it will not start to generate electricity until the rotational speed exceeds 12 rpm. If the wind speed is not enough to sustain the magnetic drag of generation, then the MVAWT rotational speed will drop below 10 rpm and then the MVAWT will stop generating until it picks up enough speed to begin generating again. The actual speed that it continuously generates at depends on the sails selected and the shape of the roof. To give a specific example, we state the cut in speed as follows: o With the 8 x 14 sails the cut in speed is 5 mph, on a roof with a UDA factor of 1.9. o Top Speed: o *Maximum rated speed 120 mph at turbine. o **Maximum rated speed 90 mph at turbine. o Turbine Operating Temp. -45° F to 130° F.Axial Flux Alternator System Each of the alternator systems can be combined with any of the sail systems listed above. The table below gives some of the information about the systems. Both of the systems listed below output 3-phase A/C to the inverter.
Post- Generation System We have 2 options for the post generation system. o The inverter which allows a system to make electricity for a grid tied application. We currently have only one inverter system for the MW220 10kW system. o The electrolyser which allows for the production of Hydrogen gas. This (and some other pieces of equipment) will allow people to run their vehicles on Hydrogen.o Currently almost all vehicles run on the good old internal combustion engine. It is actually fairly simple to convert a modern car to Hydrogen.o Soon we will be updating this Products Specs with all the equipment needed to convert and operate a hydrogen internal combustion engine. We will list the specifications to the electrolyser at that time.Inverter for the MW2200 10 kW o Manufactured for Enviro-Energies by CPE Inc.o MSRP $20,000. o Inverter Operating Temp. 32° F to 113° F. o Hook-up : o Small FRP enclosure/J-box (6" x 6" x 4") that fits under the roof modification, and to which conduit can be channeled for the down-wiring.o Electrical : From Inverter o MEDCOM/CPE_ AC/AC converter modules with grid connection, each rated at 10 kW.o Installed in a wall-mounted enclosure for 10 kW wind system with output voltage from permanent magnets, 3-phase axial flux alternator.o Converter specification:o Wall-Mounted o Sine wave grid-connected inverter with up to 50% overload capacity o Inverter Output Voltage: Single phase, 208 Vac, +10% / -15%, 240 Vac, +10% / -15% and 220 Vac, +10% / -15%o Rated Frequency: 50 Hz. +0.5Hz and 60 Hz, +0.6Hz o Rated Output Power: 10 kW o Rated Output current harmonics: <4% o Anti-islanding contactor between inverter and electrical grid o AC/DC and DC/AC conversion efficiency between 90% and 95%o Power Factor: Unity P.F. o Ambient temperature: 0º to 45º C o Auto reconnect (restart) after power interruption. o Includes dump-load resistors o Includes DC terminals for connection to optional DC/DC converters and batteries (if required).
