Since its foundation in 1981, the German company SMA Solar Technology AG has introduced an accumulated total of 1GW from 400,000 of its units. With main operations in Europe and the U.S., SMA is a global leader in innovative development and manufacturing of renewable energy power supply systems by. In collaboration with SMA, we have co-developed Windy Boy WB-1100LV, a multi grid inverter exclusively for Airdolphin. The capacitor module CM-100 was developed with JM Energy Corp's capacitor technologies and Zephyr's expertise. This text explains the multi grid inverter system created by combining the two units.
On a multi grid inverter, the generated output is leveled with the capacitor module CM-100, then converted to AC200V through Windy Boy WB-1100LV, and supplied to the power distribution grid. The generated power is used to cover captive consumption through the power distribution grid, and the excess electricity is sold back to the grid (during low electricity demands at nights etc.). Since power generation is affected by wind conditions, this system -- which can either consume or sell the generated power -- is a highly efficient wind power generation.
For areas with no commercial electricity, a stand-alone system can be built using Sunny Island and a battery.
